Drying solutions

for the olive oil sector

At Secaderos de la Loma, we offer industrial drying technologies specifically designed for the olive oil industry. We transform byproducts such as the olive pit, the fatty and dry pomace, the olive skin and the olive leaf, in valuable resources, reducing costs and generating new business opportunities.

Our solutions provide:

Energy efficiency, thanks to hybrid systems and optimized combustion.
Versatility, with equipment adapted to each type of raw material.
Sustainability, valorizing waste that was previously a problem.

Industrial
Olive Pit Drying

Olive pits are one of the most valued biomasses in the energy sector. Its high calorific value makes it an ideal source of thermal energy for industrial applications, offering an economical, sustainable, and abundant alternative. It stands out for its ease of handling and storage, its price stability compared to fossil fuels, and its continuous availability thanks to olive production itself. Furthermore, as a local and fully renewable resource, it contributes to energy independence and the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

Benefits of bone drying:

  • Higher calorific value and improved combustion and emissions.
  • Reduction of humidity and impurities.
  • Homogeneous and competitive product in the energy market.
  • Local, clean and sustainable energy source.

Alpeorujo drying

Alpeorujo is one of the most abundant byproducts of the olive industry and, after an efficient drying process, it becomes a resource with high potential for animal feed. By reducing its humidity and stabilizing it, a safe product is obtained, easy to handle and with an interesting nutritional profile for feed formulation.

Proper drying not only facilitates its conservation and storage, but also allows its incorporation as a valuable ingredient in animal diet, contributing to the sustainability of the agricultural and livestock sector by taking advantage of a local, renewable and continuously available resource.

Benefits of drying alpeorujo for animal feed:

  • Stability and prolonged conservation of the product.
  • Use of proteins, fiber and bioactive compounds.
  • Complementary ingredient in feed formulation.
  • Reduction of costs and dependence on imported raw materials.
  • Contribution to the circular and sustainable economy of the olive grove.

Oil mills get more efficiency and valorization of this key byproduct in the olive oil chain

Innovation in the use of olive skin

Our systems allow you to obtain clean skin, rich in antioxidants and bioactive compounds. a byproduct with high added value can double the price of the recovered bone.

Valuation of Olive Skin

In the traditional bone and pulp separation processes, the aim was to ensure that the bone was as clean as possible, transferring most of the skin to the alpeorujo. Today, the demands placed on the pitting machines are different: the alpeorujo that reaches the pomace must be completely depleted of bone and with the highest possible skin content.
Thanks to our drying and recovery systems, this leather takes on a unique role: it is transformed into a product with high added value that can double the price of the recovered bone. Its composition rich in antioxidants, fiber and bioactive compounds makes it a strategic resource with multiple applications.

Main destinations of dried olive skin:

  • Specialized substrates for advanced agriculture.
  • Human and animal nutrition, as a natural source of fiber and nutrients.
  • Pharmaceutical sector, taking advantage of its high polyphenol content and functional properties.

Valuation of Olive Leaf and Oleuropein

In this way, oil mills can give new value to the olive leaf, integrating it into growing markets.

Olive leaf is one of the richest byproducts in oleuropein, with concentrations that can reach between 6 and 14% in dry leaf, compared to the traces that we find in olive oil. This phenolic compound, with great antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial value, becomes a strategic resource for the food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing animal nutrition industry.

With our low temperature drying systems, we preserve the oleuropein and the rest of the bioactive compounds to the maximum, avoiding their degradation. This guarantees a stable final product, easy to store and of great commercial value.

For the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industry, the dried leaf becomes a natural raw material with high added value, ready for the extraction of active ingredients.

In this way, each kilo of leaf that previously had no outlet is transformed, thanks to our drying systems, into a new source of profitability for the producer. Not only is a management problem reduced, but the door is opened to a growing market for functional and sustainable ingredients, generating a competitive advantage over other producers who do not have this technology.
